VIDEOCONFERENCING
VIDEOCONFERENCE INTRODUCTION TO COLLABORATIVE FAMILY LAW
I recently had the opportunity to provide a videoconference presentation on Collaborative Law to a forum of 100 lawyers, law school educators and law students in Cebu, Philippines.
Often, as practice groups are forming, lawyers in a community are interested in Collaborative Law but are unwilling to commit to a two-day training on a concept they know little about.
Videoconferencing is an excellent resource to provide a brief introduction to lawyers. CLE credit can be offered for a one hour introduction to Collaborative Family Law.
The following was received from Bonifacio Belen, president and chief executive officer of the Cebu Mediation Foundation, Inc.
"Allow me to "officially and finally" be able to thank you for the comprehensive and insightful talk you gave during our forum via videocon. Many lawyers here have shown great interest in being able to pioneer the practice in Cebu. ……Once again, our sincerest appreciation for helping us spearhead a mission that would, hopefully, mature into a regular and fruitful practice of collaborative law, not only in Cebu, but even perhaps all over our country. …Video conferencing can indeed be a great way to introduce collaborative law (as you and I have done in Cebu) before training (as we hopefully will soon do)."
